Ghanaian musician Guru recently opened up about a tough time in his career when he found himself performing at shows for Telecel, which was formerly known as Vodafone, without pay. During an interview with Kingdom Accra 107.7 FM, Guru revealed that he wasn't even aware of a breach in his contract until Telecel contacted him.
He explained that his former manager handled the negotiations with the telecom company, so he had no idea about the terms. Despite this, Guru found himself obligated to perform at Vodafone events without receiving any compensation. He recounted instances where he was called upon to perform at their shows, even if it clashed with his other commitments. Sometimes, he was the sole headline performer for Telecel's multi-day events. Reflecting on the situation, Guru expressed frustration about being powerless to intervene in his manager's decisions, which ultimately led to the contract breach with Vodafone.
