Essence Festival of Culture has been celebrating African American culture in the United States for thirty years with approximately 500,000 attendees over its three-day duration, making it the most attended festival per day in the United States.
Juliet Ibrahim, Esi Yamoah, Vanessa Vanderpuye, Michael Djaba, Chris Attoh and a host of actors, producers and director's participation in the highly anticipated panel discussion titled "Clips & Conversations: Ghana's Road to Global Expansion" touched on how African countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, and Kenya can collaborate and tell their stories in films. This groundbreaking event took place on July 2nd 2023, as part of the Essence Film Festival and featured the inaugural Africa House.
The expertly moderated panel shared their experiences and insights, discussing their remarkable projects in Ghana and outlining strategies to propel the industry to greater global heights.
Curated by Ama Larbi, a Ghanaian American writer/producer from Essence Studios, Africa House provided a platform to showcase exceptional films, talent, Esteemed actors, directors, producers, and celebrities from Ghana and Nollywood gathered to explore collaborative efforts for global expansion.
This year's event serves as a launching pad for ongoing conversations and efforts to showcase Ghana's extraordinary talent and potential to the world, elevate Ghana's film industry to a wider global audience and solidifying Ghana's position as a film hub and destination.
