In recent times, there has been a growing trend of Promoters, Bloggers, and OAPs facing backlash from certain musicians within the Volta Music fraternity. The criticism revolves around their perceived inability or refusal to adequately promote the works of these artists. This unfortunate situation has resulted in silent feuds, creating an atmosphere that impedes the growth of the Creative Arts Industry in the region.
Selorm Ameza, widely recognized as Black Ocean, has emerged as a prominent voice speaking out on behalf of the accused personalities. Black Ocean, a multifaceted creative with roles spanning from poet to fashion designer and creative director, has taken the initiative to address the underlying issues and shed light on the truth in a facebook post.
I’d speak to defend the promoters in the Volta Music Industry and say for a fact that lots of you Artistes are acting too entitled and ungrateful.
Y’all get paid for your services anytime you mount an event stage or platform but Nobody pays majority of the Promoters and Bloggers in the Region. Not a single Artiste thinks about how impactful they have been to their careers and they only start complaining when the freebies stop coming.
Most Promoters have been working for free within the music space in the Region and they always have to find something else doing or else their household would go hungry.
Artistes don’t deem it fit to support Promoters and this is a sad reality that must change or else we would keep crawling.
Every Artiste in the region makes some amount of money from their crafts. They charge for events, Get fans and friends who believe in them to invest in them, get the Girls to give them freebies and a lot more Favours and love on the streets.
But nobody does this things for the Promoter. Nobody remembers them when it even comes to Christmas and other festive seasons, no Artiste even considers that this promoters are using huge bundles to browse and surf the net so they should “dash” them some credits.
But then everyday some entitled Artiste would jump on social media and start condemning Promoters for sidelining and sabotaging them and this has got to stop.
Deleted a post yesterday out of respect to my elder Statesman and it gave me a lot of mental anguish because Promoters and Bloggers also have a lot to say about Artiste blowing and acting ungrateful and forgetting them.
And as an Artist ehhh, if you have the opportunity to help those around you ehhh, do it and don’t hold back! Don’t say because you worked hard and struggled for something, means others around you must also work harder when you can easily help them. Chale that’s pure wickedness, selfishness and Greed. Make brother to shine some laaa.
If you have an opportunity to help others who have dedicated their time and money to see you grow in any capacity, do it and don’t be selfish and seek to be the only one to shine among them. Let your team also enjoy some of the blessings.
To come out and say your team wanted your help to travel abroad and you expect them to work hard for it because you also worked hard for that opportunity is just very sad to hear. E make I vex say I delete the post waaaa! The ingratitude dey smell for inside like “akpatogui”.
You Issokay!
This year we no go gree give anybody. If you come out attacking others without strong proofs ehhh, we would also come at you gidigidi and e no go sweet we all.
I have to protect my turf and that’s Volta Music, Tourism and Creative Arts.

It's important for individuals within the industry to have open and honest conversations to address any misunderstandings and find solutions to promote the growth of the Creative Arts Industry in the Volta region.
Public discussions like these can shed light on the challenges faced by both artists and promoters, fostering a better understanding of the issues at hand. Hopefully, these conversations will lead to positive changes, collaboration, and a more supportive environment for everyone involved in the Volta Music fraternity.
