Ras Caleb Curses Delegates as he Loses MUSIGA Presidential Election to Bessa Simons.

Ghanaian reggae artist Caleb Tareka, also known as Ras Caleb, has lost the presidential election of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) to veteran highlife musician Bessa Simons. Ras Caleb expressed his disappointment by claiming that some individuals had promised to vote for him after taking money from him, but they failed to honor their promise. He went as far as cursing those who did not support him, saying they should continue to suffer in poverty. Ras Caleb cited his extensive tour of all regions of Ghana, during which he gathered information about the poor management of the union. He believed that the members had assured him of their support to make positive changes within the organization.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz after the elections, Ras Caleb stated that he was unwilling to work with the new MUSIGA administration because he considered them to be corrupt and lacking vision.

In the election results, Ras Appiah Levi garnered 66 votes, while Bessa Simons received 324 votes when all the votes were tallied. Additionally, other elected executives of MUSIGA include Rev Dr. Yawson as the 1st Vice President, Abena Ruthy as the 2nd Vice President, S. K. Agyemang as the General Secretary, Rev Eyison as the National Treasurer, Rev Gifty Ghansah as the National Welfare Officer, and Chizzy Wailer as the National Organiser.
