Joseph Gamor popularly known by his stage name Lyrical Joe, LJ or the Lyrical Beast is a Ghanaian rapper who was born on the 5th of August 1995 in Accra and hails from Mafikumasi in the Volta region of Ghana.
After completing Akosombo International Senior High
School, he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a multi talented musician
despite the odds and criticism of some friends and mates.
LJ grew up listening to top rappers like Lil Wayne,
Eminem, Nas, Jay Z among others and this gave him the trait of becoming a
multifaceted artist. His versatility, style, delivery and lyricism and the use of strong and tight wordplays in his songs makes him an outstanding musician in the industry today.
In 2011, LJ participated in the popular African TV
show ‘’X FACTOR’’. Being the only Ghanaian act, he made it to a remarkable
stage in the competition before his eviction. The competition refined him to
become a better version of himself so his exit from the competition propelled
him to go harder and bigger in order to make his dream a reality.
Joe then released a dozen of songs since then till
date. These songs include; Heart Breaker, Fork & Knife, I dey feel
u, I’m Sick, 3-kings, Bowtie, Alright, Tina, My way, Dracarys and recently
released 5th August series (I, II, III and IV) in which he spits pure fire, drop punchlines, deliver bars upon bars and a chain of wordplays as his birthday gift to his fans.
LJ has worked with industry players such as Gemini,
Flowking Stone, Guru, Tinny, Kojo Bentil, Yaa Pono, EL, Sarkodie, etc in which
he shared stages with most of them. He also works with top engineers like
Masta Garzy, Ball J, Killbeatz, Phredxter, De Thompson, Fortune Dane among
others.
Joe's debut album KILL released in 2018 made
significant waves in the music scene and also projected him into stardom. He
shuts down every stage or show he attends with his energetic and classic
performance. LJ is currently the brand ambassador for the biggest tertiary
student event in the country that is the “Ghana Tertiary Awards (GTA)”.
