“It is because it was successful. It was properly done. And just seeing how good it is, people are now inspired to say, I wanna try this as well. It just means that I’ve inspired something.
“On social media and in the news, everyone is just seeing people that are trying to break Guinness Records. Other people are trying to break barriers in their lives and businesses as well. So, I think I have inspired a lot of people to push through their own limitations.”The first attempt to break Hilda's record was organized by Ekiti Chef, Adeparusi Damilola, also known as Chef Dammy. However, her 120-hour cook-a-thon in Ekiti State faced criticism and controversy. Chef Dammy clarified that she did it for fun and not to break the Guinness World Record, stating that she intends to undertake an official attempt soon.
Another Nigerian chef, Adeola Adeyeye, also known as Deo, initiated a 150-hour cookathon in Ile-Oluji, Ondo state, on June 30, 2023, and recently completed her quest. Deo mentioned that the Guinness World Records acknowledged and authorized her to proceed with the record attempt. If her cooking evidence is certified accurate by the Guinness World Records, she will become the new record holder.
Furthermore, a renowned chef from Liberia, Wonyean Aloycious, expressed his intention to challenge Hilda's cooking "record" through his social media. Additionally, a popular Kenyan chef named Maliha, who previously broke two Guinness records in 2017 and 2019, vowed to challenge Hilda Baci's "record" in August during a cooking marathon.
