MAN CRUSH MONDAY: Desmond 'D Black' Blackmore.

 

Desmond Kwesi Blackmore popularly known as D-Black is the CEO of Black Avenue Muzik (BAM), Black Avenue Clothing, Livewire Events, Black Avenue Films/TV and Club Onyx. A graduate at University of Cape Coast (B. A Economics)  and University Of Ghana, Legon (BFA Theatre Arts / Music).

D-Black is currently managing DJ Breezy, Sefa, Ms. Forson, Osayo & rapper Nina Ricchie, as well as music producer Rony, Turn Me Up. His former acts include Joey B, Freda Rhymz, Dahlin Gage & Wisa Greid.

He has collaborated with some of African acts including Davido, Mayorkun, M.I, Simi Phyno, Ice Prince, Seyi Shay all from Nigeria, Cassper Nyovest, Bucie, HHP from South Africa, Stanley Enow from Cameroon, Stella Mwangi from Kenya and Vanessa Mdee from Tanzania as well as Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, StoneBwoy, Castro, Bisa Kdei, Efya, King Promise, Kuami Eugene E.L, Kwabena Kwabena, VVIP, Gyakie and more from his homeland Ghana.

BAM president has seven albums to his credit including Target Practice (2009), Music, Love & Life (2010), The Revelation (2012), Lightwork (2016), Hunger & Thirst Mixtape (2017), Smoke & Mirrors E.P (2019) and Loyalty (2021).

Some of his hit songs include Vera ft. Joey B, Move with Kwaku T, Somebody ft. Kwabena Kwabena, Get On the Dancefloor ft. D Cryme, Black Clouds ft. Waje, Woara ft. Kesse, Personal Person ft. Castro, Seihor with Castro, Stay ft. Simi, Sheege ft. Gyakie, among others.
