WOMAN CRUSH WEDNESDAY: Deloris 'Delay' Frimpong Manso

Deloris Frimpong Manso, widely known as "Delay," is a prominent figure in Ghana with a diverse skill set. She is an entrepreneur, television and radio host, producer, public speaker, and advocate for women's rights. Her career commenced at the age of 17 when she began working as a presenter on Life FM in Nkawkaw. She later moved to Top Radio in Accra and then Oman FM.
During this time, she also launched her own TV show, the Delay Show, which has been the leading thought-provoking and captivating TV show in Ghana since 2008. The show, hosted by Delay herself, has featured interviews with numerous influential personalities from various backgrounds, both locally and internationally. Some of the notable figures include Sarkodie, Dr. Kofi Amoah, Sir John, Amerado, Akuapem Poloo, Wayoosi, Kwadwo Sheldon, Wanlov the Kuborlor, Prof. Elsie Kauffman, Osebo the Zaraman, Dope Nation, Wesley Kesse, King Promise, Lasmid, Michael Afranie, and Sam George, among others. In addition to hosting, Delay has also produced popular series such as "Afia Schwarzenegger" and "Cocoa Brown".
Aside from her work in the media industry, Delay is also an executive producer for several shows, including the Delay Show on TV3, Kasa No YÉ› More on Akwaaba Magic, and My Perfect Funeral on Showmax.
Her influence extends beyond the media and business realms into motivational speaking. She actively shares her experiences to inspire others, particularly women and youth, to pursue success. She has spoken at various events, including the International Youth Empowerment Summit and the Women’s CEO Summit. 
Often compared to Oprah Winfrey in the Ghanaian media, Delay also motivates through her entrepreneurial ventures, notably Delay Foods, which offers a range of products including Mackerel, Sardines, Shittor, Spaghetti, and Bread, among others. Delay is also involved in ambassadorial deals with FIDO Loans, Midea, and Lemfi.
With aspirations to become Ghana's first female president by 2032, she champions women's involvement in leadership. Her efforts have been recognized through accolades such as the Women Empowerment Award at the 3G Awards and being honored as one of Ghana's most industrious celebrities. She has also received multiple awards at the Ghana Outstanding Women Awards and the RTP TV Female Presenter of the Year in 2023.
