Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, the Ghanaian Journalist known for her remarkable sing-a-thon attempt in December 2023, has recently revealed that she and her management have made a payment to expedite the review process for her sing-a-thon. During an interview on Accra-based Joy Prime, Afua shared that the typical verification procedure usually takes up to 12 weeks, prompting her decision to opt for a priority review after waiting for just two weeks. This special review, which comes with a cost of $750 (,₵9,262.50), is expected to be completed within a much shorter timeframe of 1-5 days, in contrast to the standard review duration of 12 weeks.
Explaining the reason behind the payment, Afua said, "Due to the immense popularity of our event, they requested access to our files. After waiting for two weeks, we decided to request a priority review. The regular review process usually takes around 12 weeks, but if you want it expedited, you have the option to pay a certain amount and they will review your file within five working days. So, that's the route we decided to take. The official fee is $650, but with transaction fees, it added up to approximately $750."
The Sing-a-thon, a captivating marathon singing endeavor, managed to captivate audiences as Asantewaa embarked on her vocal journey on December 24, 2023. This melodious odyssey lasted an astonishing 126 hours and 52 minutes, finally coming to an end on December 29.
