The Volta Region of Ghana
witnessed the grand celebration of its most prominent DJ Awards for the third
time, held last weekend within the confines of Bula Lounge in Ho. The young sensation,
Doppy Santana, found himself in contention for the DJ's Most Popular Song of
the Year award with hit song ‘Kpankoraa’ as he went head-to-head with Chief
One's 'Du Agbe,' 'Wotelewoea,' and Keeny Ice's 'déjà vu' featuring Camidoh.
Santana delivered a mesmerizing
performance as the opening act of the night. His set began with softly lit
candles on the stage, the main lights dimmed. He freestyled for a brief
duration before launching into his latest composition, 'Deladem,' which
captivated the audience with its engaging and relatable lyrics. He concluded
his performance with 'Kpankoraa,' prompting uncontrollable dance moves from the
crowd.
In his gracious acceptance speech
upon receiving the award, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the divine
forces for this unforgettable moment in his life. He extended his appreciation
to all the DJs and radio presenters who have supported and broadcasted his
music, the event organizers for acknowledging his talent and efforts, his
dedicated team for their unwavering motivation, Nana Afia MamaAfrica Adorkor I
of Children's Health Education & Safety Society (CHESS) who made the
sacrifice of missing an important dinner meeting with investors, and his
adoring fans. It was an incredible sight to witness his devoted fans traveling
in two full buses from Kpando to be part of this unforgettable experience.
