In a candid interview with the 3FM team on July 25, 2023, Pat Thomas fondly recalled his trip to Nigeria accompanied by his manager and close friend, Sunny, who happened to have connections with the iconic Fela Kuti.
During the trip, they visited Fela's club and were invited to his residence the following day. Pat Thomas vividly reminisced about the moment when Fela offered him marijuana, famously known as "Fela Goro." Excitedly recounting the experience, Pat Thomas shared that he was initially hesitant but decided to partake to impress Fela.
As he smoked with Fela, the effect of the marijuana hit him hard, causing intense dizziness and almost making him feel like he was going crazy. Despite the overwhelming experience, Fela continued smoking casually, seemingly unaffected.
