Afrobeats has evolved over the years and has gained a global recognition to a point where we have a category for it at the GRAMMYs. For this genre to live on, the players have dedicated their lives to keep its fire burning. One of such artists include Rastino.

Koomson Gideon popularly known by stage name Rastino is a fast-rising versatile artist from Ve-Golokuati in the Volta Region of Ghana. He started music professionally in the year 2015 before he entered Senior High School at Have Technical Institute also in the Volta Region where he became more serious with his talent and decided to put all his energy to music.

Speaking to YayraOnline, he said “ I learn from all angles when it comes to music and I got influenced by Nigeria’s dancehall general Patoranking because I loved his style, flow, delivery et al. I am a versatile artist and my goal is to become one of the biggest Volta artist to hit Africa and the world as a whole through Afropop, Afrobeat and RnB for which I’m known for.”

His first song was dropped in SHS titled Better Must Come featuring Weezy Boy and followed by My Journey, Money Life Dumebi, Friday Night Refix Of Lasmid's original which went viral on Tiktok and gathered over 100,000 streams on audiomack.

Rastino has one EP titled “The Celestine EP“ to his credit.   It talks about his musical journey from 2015 and showing appreciation to his lovely Mum who has been his biggest inspiration from the beginning of it all.
