ARTISTE PROFILE: WAKAYNA

 
If you have ever listened to Social Media Riddim Hosted by Ghanaian female blogger Jullie Jay Kanz, Eye Judah’s Genesis Album, Abudebi Zonjon’s 15:00 EP among other popular hits, then you must hear of Wakayna.

Known in real life as Francis Dogbey, Wakyna is a Record Producer (Digital audio workstation, vocals and keyboard), Afro beat, Afro Pop, Highlife and world music sensation from Ghana.  Wakayna popularly known is a native of Nogokpo, a town in the Ketu South Municipal of the Volta Region of Ghana. Born and bred in Tulaku, Ashaiman (Greater Accra) on 6th March where his music career started at the age of 14. 

After basic education, Francis delved into ICT to learn hardware, graphic designing and music production as a protégé of prolific Ghanaian Music Producer Beatz Dakay.

His Social Media Riddim released in 2015 featured over 25 artists across Africa and Jamaica. He played a big role in Eye Judah’s genesis Album with 10 tracks to his credit
and also four tracks of Abudebi Zonjon’s 15:00 EP. He also has one track to his credit of Ghanaian Veteran musician Tic’s Mama Grace EP & Nigerian Afro Pop musician Wurld’s Afro Soul EP. 

The  Freedom Cry Records signee started music professionally in 2019 where he released Africa Nice (2019), Slow Down (2019), Never Give Up (2020), New Virus featuring J'lan Oliver from USA (2020), Black Lives Matter featuring Don Husky from Jamaica (2020), Bob Marley featuring Renner & Zanli from Ghana (2021), Bless Me (2021), Nufu (2021) and his trending song Anadwo (2022).
